All passengers are screened in advance against a national database, and may be denied boarding at crew or company discretion.

We suggest arriving 20 minutes before your departure time.  Anyone not present at least 10 minutes prior to departure may be denied boarding.

Any passenger that does not show up for a flight that they hold an active reservation for will forfeit the value paid for the flight and will not be eligible for a refund. This policy applies to all ticket forms, including refundable tickets, Fast Lane tickets, and Commuter Book tickets.

Reservation Change/Cancelation Policy:

  1. After ticket is purchased, within 24 hours of purchase, passengers may cancel and refund their reservation with no penalty. After this initial period of 24 hours post purchase may change flights with no penalty or obtain a refund if the ticket is clearly listed as a refundable ticket. Reservations cancelled will be allowed to apply the value of the purchased ticket to future travel on Tailwind for up to one (1) year after purchase.

  2. Any non-refundable ticket, Fast Lane ticket, or Commuter Book ticket reservation that is cancelled within 36 hours of the departure time will incur a $300 change fee.

  3. Same day changes are allowed if you’re moving your ticket to another available flight to the same destination on the same date, subject to availability.

  4. Any Fast Lane or Commuter Book client that is deemed to excessively "no-show" or cancel within 36 hours of the departure time will be subject to revocation of their discounted rates. Tailwind Air reserves the right to define what constitutes as "excessive."

Our new build Cessna Caravan Amphibians are fast, direct, and save you a lot of time. It is important to note that they also have weather and daylight limitations when landing on water (our crews and aircraft are capable and certified to take off and land at land airports like any other modern aircraft). Safety and transparency are key values for our company. In the event a flight appears unable to operate for any reason, we aim to communicate that to passengers as far in advance as practical, keeping in mind there are good (but slower) train, car, and airline alternatives between our destinations. All reservations for any impacted flight will be fully refundable.

For flights with departures before 11am, we will notify passengers by 7pm the day before the flight if the flight will not operate.

For flights between 11-3pm, we will notify passengers before 8am if a flight will not operate.

For flights after 3pm, we will notify passengers by 11am if a flight will not operate.

We are happy to assist with alternative arrangements.

On some occasions governed by safety considerations, we may elect to land at a nearby land airport instead of the water on our Manhattan and Boston Harbor flights. This will be communicated as soon as possible to any affected passenger before the flight or in flight. In almost all cases, the diversion airports will be the Boston Logan private aviation terminal (BOS) or Westchester County Airport (HPN) - Ross West FBO airports. Should such a diversion occur, passengers landing at Logan will be able to transfer via shuttle van to our water taxi and arrive at Fan Pier Marina. If a diversion to Westchester County Airport occurs, we will provide passengers an $80 Visa gift card that can pay for alternative ground transport to your Manhattan destination.

In the event Tailwind cancels or delays a flight for any reason, Tailwind will attempt to notify passengers in advance via the contact information submitted at the time of purchase. In the event of a flight cancellation, customers may choose between a refund or a credit good towards a future flight. We will assist with alternative arrangements to the extent possible.

Please bring a valid ID.

We operate a fleet of late model, dependable and safe amphibious Cessna Caravans.  Easily recognizable with its wingspan of 52’, the versatile Caravan is known for its ability to get you where you really want to go- by land or by sea. See more here.

Mask use is optional, unless required by any current FAA directive at the time of flight. We encourage mask use based on individual preferences.

If you feel unwell or have recently tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, you must call us in advance and we will rebook your flight or provide a credit towards a future flight. A refund is available for refundable tickets. Failure to notify us in advance will result in forfeiture of the fare paid. A positive test result from a laboratory may be required.
